Laser Hair Removal
During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicles that produce hairs. This damage inhibits future hair growth.
At Emily Anne Esthetics, we use one of the best lasers on the market. Our Diolaze laser is an advanced laser with one of the largest treatment spot sizes and built in cooling, making your treatment faster and more comfortable. Diolaze can be used on any area of the body that has unwanted hair. Most commonly, we treat the bikini area, Brazilian, underarms, legs, and lips.

A Note About Medical Services
For medical services, a "Good Faith Exam" just be completed by our in-office Nurse Practitioner, Samantha before your scheduled appointment. This can be via Zoom or in person and takes approximately 5-10 minutes. Please contact us via phone call, text or e-mail to schedule your Exam and Medical Service.
Pre and Post-Care Instructions for Laser Hair Removal

Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to treatment, as well as any self-tanners
Avoid waxing/tweezing. Laser Hair Removal works by targeting the dark pigment in the follicle, so pulling the hair out at the root through waxing/tweezing will negatively impact the effectiveness of laser hair removal treatment
Shave the area to be treated 24 hours before your appointment (or the day of)
Cleanse and lightly exfoliate the area to be treated 24-48 hours before your appointment
No makeup on the area to be treated
Wear comfy clothes
Avoid caffeine and alcohol before your appointment

Avoid sun exposure
Avoid tight clothing that may rub and irritate the treated area
Do not apply makeup the same day
Avoid steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, pedicures, and exercise/sweating for 24 hours

Depending on your concerns, medical history, and treatment goals, prescription options may include tretinoin in varying strengths, oral tranexamic acid, valacyclovir, and other appropriate medications.
Prescriptions may be recommended to address specific skin concerns, support certain treatments, or help maintain your results between appointments. Your provider will evaluate your individual needs to determine whether a prescription is appropriate for you.
Prescription treatments are not one-size-fits-all and may be incorporated alongside services such as injectables, lasers, microneedling, and other aesthetic treatments.
