SHADED WINGED EYELINER

Shaded Winged Eyeliner creates the look of wearing winged eyeliner. You may have heard smokey eyeliner, ombre eyeliner, or designer eyeliner, which are all the same as shaded eyeliner. Before/After Care Instructions

Prior to your PMU service:

Prior to your PMU procedure(s), think about the look that you wish to achieve. As experts in the field of color analysis and PMU, we ensure the correct colors and styles are chosen for you, however you are part of the decision making process. Please clearly communicate your desired results with your PMU Artist.

PMU enhancements normally require multiple application sessions. To achieve the best results, you will need to schedule a follow up appointment no less than 30 days and no more than 60 days after your initial appointment. This is included in the price of your initial appointment and you are responsible for scheduling the follow up.

Before:

  • Avoid scheduling any social plans on the day of or after your procedure.

  • Please wear your normal makeup to your appointment.

  • Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen 2 days prior to your appointment.

  • Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to your appointment

  • Do not take oral fish oil supplements and Vitamin E for one week prior to your appointment to prevent excessive bleeding

  • A sensitivity test will be performed, unless waived upon request.

  • Do not use Retin-A products close to the procedure area for 2 weeks prior to your procedure

  • Waxing treatments should be performed no less than 3 days prior to your procedure

  • IPL & Laser Hair Removal  should be performed no less than 2 weeks prior to your procedure

  • Electrolysis treatments should be performed no less than 5 days prior to your procedure

After Care Instructions:

Aftercare is very important for producing beautiful and lasting results. Please ensure you are always using clean hands, and follow the aftercare to the best of your ability.

Aftercare instructions:

  • Avoid water, sweating, tanning beds, wearing makeup, exposure to steam, etc. for 2 weeks post procedure.

  • Only use freshly washed hands when cleaning the PMU area.

    • For brows: Wet a 2x2 or clean paper towel with water and pat off any excess lymph fluid. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Apply ointment for 2 days, then dry heal.

    • For Lips: Apply ointment when dry until healed. Circadia Lip Renewing Hydrator (Naked) may be used the day after your service until lips are healed.

    • For Eyes: Dry heal only.

  • If there is any lymph fluid, you may wipe gently with a piece of wet gauze.

  • Do not scrub, rub, or pick at the epithelial crust (scabbing) that forms. Allow it to flake off by itself. If it is removed before it is ready, the pigment underneath can be pulled out.

  • Always use a sun block after the procedure area is healed to protect it from sun fading.

  • Do not use any retinols or actives, including serums, during the PMU process (initial appointment to follow up appointment)

What to expect:

  • Healing times vary person to persons and service to service. Swelling, itching, scabbing, light bruising, dryness, and tightness can all be expected post procedure. Ice packs may be used for swelling or bruising. Aftercare ointment should be applied for scabbing, tightness, and dryness.

  • Too dark and slightly uneven appearance is normal. Full results can be seen in 4 weeks.

  • Color change or color loss. As the procedure area(s) heal, the color will lighten and sometimes seem to disappear. This can all be addressed during the follow up appointment, which is why a touch up appointment is necessary. The procedure area has to be completely healed before we are able to address any concerns, which is expected to take at least 4 weeks.

  • Scheduling a follow up 30-45 days after the first session (no additional cost) and every few years to keep the procedure area looking fresh and beautiful. If the follow up is not scheduled within 60 days of the first initial session, you will be charged according to our current touch up rates.

  • Needing a touch up every few years. A touch up may be needed 1-5 years after the initial procedure depending on your skin, medications, and sun exposure.

Failure to follow aftercare instructions may result in infections, pigment loss, or discoloration.

FAQ

Why is it called Permanent makeup? Is it really permanent?

Permanent makeup is, essentially, a tattoo. A small, hand-held machine designed for cosmetic use, similar to a tattoo gun, is used for the application of permanent makeup. Ink is used as pigment, however it differs from ordinary tattoo ink. There are specially formulated inks for use in cosmetic tattooing. These inks may fade over time more than a traditional tattoo, but some pigment will be permanently left behind. This is why touch up appointments every 1-5 years are recommended for PMU services.

What should I do before my appointment?

To prepare for your appointment, it is recommended to follow these instructions. - No caffeine within 24 hours of the appointment. - No blood thinners or pain medications 48 hours before the appointment - No working out the day of your appointment - No alcohol or other intoxicants within 24 hours of the appointment - No retina/retinol or glycolic near the brow area for 2 weeks before the appointment - Drink plenty of water, especially for Lip Blushing appointments.

What are contraindications to receiving PMU services?

There are many factors that may effect the healing process after receiving PMU services. We do not want to limit anyone to receiving services, but there are some contraindications that could make someone not a good candidate for PMU. If any of the following apply to you, please consult your doctor prior to receiving PMU services: Acne medications, auto immune diseases, anemia, cancer/chemotherapy, cold sores, diabetes, eczema/psoriasis, hepatitis A B C, HIV/AIDS, High blood pressure, keloids, thyroid disorders, allergies to latex, petroleum, stainless steel, or any form of numbing solutions like lidocaine, prilocaine, etc.

What is the difference between all of the PMU brow services?

Microblading: Pigment is implanted directly into the skin using a hand-held tool. Microblading is best for those who want realistic hair-like strokes. Nanoblading: Similar to microblading, nanoblading can fill in scarce brows. Nanoblading uses a smaller needle with a hand-held machine to create natural looking hair stokes. The smaller needle creates super-fine hair-like strokes. Nanoblading is great for those who want to fill in missing or sparse brows, and want a natural result. Powder Brows: Powder brows give a similar look of filling in brows with makeup. Powder brows can either be subtle or bold, the look is customizable to your preference. Powder brows are great for those who like the look of makeup-filled brows or those who have old microblading that they would like covered. Combo Brows: Combo brows are a comination of microblading or nanoblading with powder brows. This is great for those who want a more filled in appearance towards the end of the brows, but a more natural hair-like appearance at the beginnings of the brows.
